SONG: Consequence Feat. Kid Cudi - On My Own (Produced By Kanye West)

Kanye West and Consequence have been creating amazing collaborations since day one. From College Dropout's "Spaceship" to G.O.O.D. Fridays "Chain Heavy" to Late Registration's "Gone", each song has proved to be a smash. This track is definitely no exception to the previous three.
While Consequence has never earned the popularity that he deserves, his time will soon come. He began his career rapping with his cousin, hip hop legend, Q-Tip (A Tribe Called Quest).

While it seems all is well between Consequence and Kanye, if you listen to the lyrics closely you will find otherwise. He is calling out his former boss for not supporting his music like he should have. With this being said it is interesting that Cons chose to rap over a beat that his friend produced for him before the falling out.

"Let's be honest, we don't need a lie detector / Don't try to make it seem that you was once my investor / You never believed, so you don't need to lie to Dexter." which is rapped in Con's first verse.

Cudi also completes the complaints with the lyrics to his hook, "I could do it on my own, I don't have to listen to your lies, forever / I've been movin' on my own for some time now, so I gotta say goodbye, forever."

Consequence left the label G.O.O.D. Music after the two got into an argument over Kanye's lack of support and lack of credit for Con's contributions to 'Ye's music.

In an interview with Billboard.com, Consequence expresses his feelings about his struggles to get the fame he deserved under Kanye.

"I wrote a plethora of records that people are familiar with....I wrote the verses to 'Paranoid' with Kanye. It's a lot of people's favorite record from 808's and Heartbreak." Consequence also helped with the songs, "Say You Will", "Robocop", "Amazing", "Gone", and "Spaceship".

This track will be featured on Consequence's upcoming mixtape called, Movies on Demand 3.
